Northern Panhandle Trail - Weirton
U.S. Route 22 East from Pittsburgh, Pa. Second exit ' Harmon's Creek Road' and follow signs. Only 5 minutes across Pennsylvania - West Virginia state line. Follows scenic streams with wildlife. In infancy stage about five miles of the projected 29 mile trail. The final constuction is due in 2004. From Collier,West Virginia to Collier Township, Pennsylvania. ( Just outside of Pittsburgh,Pa) This is a joint venture between both private and government Rails To Trails project. Parking is provided and a slight elevation is experienced.

Northern Panhandle Trail - Weir - i beg to differ about the location. the trail and Weirton are no where near Jefferson county, which is in the eastern, not northern panhandle of WV.

Northern Panhandle Trail - Gorgeous views! Wildlife such as beavers,herrons,deer, to name a few. Police patrols for safety by Weirton City Police. Soft cinder base and wide trail from former Penn - Central Rail Road offers an average width of sixty feet side to side. Harmon's Creek flows parralel to trail which offers peaceful walks and bike trailing. Migratory birds of many variety dominates this area.
