Marathon SL question...help?
I have a 2004 Marzocchi Marathon SL and it is leaking negative air into positive chamber. Does anyone know where I can find a service manual from Marzocchi? All they have on their website is the owners manual which is no help at all. I figure I will end up having to send it back but just wanted to make sure it is not just something simple as I am guessing I will be without a bike for a couple of weeks if I have to ship it away. Also I like to play with different oil weights and stuff and this is my first air sprung Marzocchi and I don't want to get in over my head tearing it apart so some scematics would help. Thanks.

They stopped distributing "detailed" manuals last year. It's f'ing frustating! Log on to their website, create a profile and send them an email. Or you can try calling them and talking to one of their tech people. They're usually pretty helpful.

I've seen several web bike shops selling a Techincal CD for their '03 line, but I haven't seen anything for their '04 line. I complained to them about this in an email to them just a few days ago -- haven't gotten a reply yet.

Zoke makes perfect forks, why would you need a manual?

      Fox on the other hand...

      Hey DC,
Check out this site. Not for '04s but still pretty helpful.
I myself recently purchased a 'TALAS' too. ;)

Thanks Schecky. I've seen that site before. It's good for the '03 model. I am having a strange problem with both my '03 and '04 forks after recent oil changes... the ETA engages, but it slides back up very slowly (over a period of a few minutes. I think I'll call them...

I remember reading about that issue somewhere on MTBR, but I don't recall what the cause/solution was.

Thanks for the link... I will give that a shot. It's probably what is going on. I can hear something when compressing the fork quickly -- kinda like air bubbles sloshing around. I've already checked the oil levels and they are good. I wonder if it doesn't like the Spectra oil I used. Should it matter... it's 7.5 weight like Marzocchi recommends.

I'll rip it apart again this weekend and cycle the ETA cartridge a bunch before putting it back together.

What he said! Except, I thought it was Ronnie. The guy works on Marzocchi forks; it's what he does. RiderX, where do you live? If you're local Santa Monica, I'm going out there (Valencia) soon to get my ECC replaced. Black Bart may come with and we were thinking a short ride, weather permitting. It was supposed to happen yesterday, but it didn't. Email me; leaving out the [no spam] after the @ sign.

Thanks all! Ronnie at Marzocchi is the man! Very helpful and didn't freak out that I would prefer to fix the problem myself if possible to avoid being without a fork for too long. The deal with the service manual is that they now sell it on CD - pretty lame - and can buy it from their sales reps. Ronnie though told me everything I needed to know and the rest is pretty self explanitory in taking it apart. Once again this forum came to the rescue. Thanks again.
