Downieville Registration
...starts on 3/1/05. The race fills up every year, usually very quickly. Register early if you're gonna go.
The race this year is July 22-24.
The Downieville Classic is a hot race, either XC or DH. One of the highlights every year is that the woodsprite XC brahs have to descend the entire DH course - a good number of them wind up wobbling around town after the race in bandages and crutches, still in torn lycra. If you are *flying* down the DH course it takes ~45 minutes to get to the bottom! And that's if you're Bret Weir.

I'll see ya there Gus. I was there last year for the MTBR gathering. Fun, fun stuff. The timing is perfect too. I'll reserve a campsite right now. You racing or watching?
