Aspen Corridor/Red Rocks Trail - Gallup
This ride is located in the Zuni Mts., south on 400 off of I-40. The ride begins with a 2.5 mile descent thru an aspen forest to the Red Rocks. The Red Rocks are approx 4 miles of Moab quality slickrock that is absolutely beautiful and a blast to ride. The Red Rocks tower above a green valley surrounded by ponderosa pine trees. This ride also has other options to make it a loop. Cottonwood Canyon Trail takes you back in history as it drops you into a beautiful canyon that was used as a logging railroad corridor in the early 1900's. The Lumber Camp Trail climbs 6 miles to the north out of the canyon to take you to a deserted early 1900's lumber camp. The 6 mile Climb Trail to the south is a rocky technical climb that will make even the strongest climbers cry tears of joy when they reach the top. Your best bet is to talk to the local bike shop. Loops for this ride range from 17-30+ miles of beautiful singletrack/backcountry riding. Scoreboard Bikeshop
