Peugeot Carbolite 103 price
I am an insurance adjuster and I am looking for some info on the bike as far as the year made and the price. It is a Peugeot Carbolite 103, serial number 4371615. It was damaged in an accident and the owner stated he purchsaed the bike two years ago for about $700.00. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm... It's a low-end '80s bike and not worth a lot. Some would say it's worth about a six-pack!.My guess is it's worth a hundred bucks at most.

A Peugeot 103 is a great bike worth a lot more than a 6 pack. Granted if you live in the U.S. (I don't) it might be hard to find parts for, but they are etremely reliable bikes. I own two, one for parts and one to run, it is a great bike to hold onto and fix up if your willing to put the time and money into it. It's a great bike just to have some fun with and a hard bike to find as the years go by it will increase with value. Knowing more ab the condition of the bike would help me put a price on it.

I know this is an old post but I would like to comment for future readers. Carbolite 103 is not a model of bicycle, it is what Peugeot refers to the material that the frame is made from. These frames were built over many years and sold at different retail prices. If you have one today, it may be worth more for parts than as a whole bicycle. They are great bicycles especially for the novice bike rider. I have an early 70's French version, Peugeot with the Carbolite 103 frame and I love it. Recently, I bent the front fork and looked for a replacement. Being a French built model, no original parts are available for it. I did find a site in Wisconsin that sells retrofited forks, stems, and handlebars for my bike but that would have cost over $150 plus shipping. A little coaxing with a long pipe and a vice got me back on the road again.
