Earthed Premiere Comes to Laguna Beach

Bike Magazine, along with Shimano and Felt Bicycles, will premiere Earthed: The Law of Fives at the historic Regency Theater in downtown Laguna Beach, California. The movie will be followed by a party at Hennessey’s Tavern in Laguna, sponsored by New Belgium. The movie begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, with the party following at 9. Tickets cost $10.

The event not only offers a rare chance to see the film at a widescreen movie theater in a classic mountain bike town, but is a fundraiser for local trails. All proceeds will be put back into local trail systems. “We just wanted to hold a cool event for the local mountain bike community,” said Lou Mazzante, Bike’s Editor. “But we also hope to raise several thousand dollars for local trails.”

After the film premiere there will be an auction and raffle, including a Felt bike and Shimano components. There will also be prizes and auction items from Crank Brothers, Fox, Oakley, SixSixOne, Sunline, Thule and others.

Earthed: The Law of Fives is the latest film in the popular Earthed series. Produced by filmmaker Alex Rankin, the film follows downhill racers as they compete around the globe on the World Cup circuit. The film blends intense race action, rider commentary with scenes shot on the riders’ home trails.
