West Hartford Resevoir - West Hartford

I-84 to Farmington exit. Take right off ramp and follow road straight through approx 5 lights and look for West Hartford Resevoir MDC sign on left. Take left and follow paved road to dirt parking lot. Maps posted for trails.

  1. Unfortunately the MDC has been doing logging and
    firebreak maintenance on the Metacomet trail.
    About 1/3 of it through the MDC property has been
    bulldozed to create a fire break/road.

    Look for signs for authorized trail re-routes by
    NEMBA with permission from the MDC.

  2. Metecomet Trail - this is the best stuff in the resevoir. Multitude of different terrains from rocky to rooty. Dry during summer, wet fall and spring, cold during winter. Ride all 4 seasons with the Mudhounds.
