Case Mountain - Manchester/Glastonbury

From Hartford:
Take I84 East to 384
Exit 4, Right off exit
Very close to exit there are two parking areas on either side of the road. When you notice cars parked there with bike racks on them, that is a good indication that you've found the right place.

  1. Case Mountain - The Case/Birch Mountain area is covered with exceptional single track trails throughout. There are plenty of rock gardens to maneuver, sandy powerlines, log pyramids to jump over, steep technical climbs ('the spine' is one, a bare rockface slope, fun to climb or descend). I have ridden in this area many times and I am always surprised that there are trails that I had never explored. It is good to go with someone that knows the area the first time you go so you get an feel for the area.
