From the parking lot, ride over Hwy C470 on a bridge and bear left on a dirt road that climbs steeply around the north side of Green Mountain. At the top of the climb, you will be on a ridge. There are numerous side trails (feel free to explore them; it's fun making up different ways to ride this trail), but stay on the dirt road. You will go up and down a couple of small hills. Take the third singletrack on your right and descend. It is fairly rocky. Stay right at an intersection with another trail, ride down several switchbacks and come to a large intersection at the bottom of the trail. Go right and follow it as it climbs and descends around the south side of Green Mountain. You will pass several side trails and intersections, but stay straight at all of these. Climb one last hill after several miles, and then descend back toward the bridge that you started from. Cross the bridge and return to the parking lot.
If you want to make an epic long ride, add Red Rocks Trail (Matthew Winters), Mount Falcon and/or Apex to this ride.
Note: A lot of the directions to this trail were taken from a book called 'Denverides' by Dave Rich. This is one of many excellent books on rides in the Denver area. I like this one because the pages are removable and waterproof making it possible to take only 1 page along for the ride, instead of the whole book.
